DOGE to EUR Live Price Converter
Dogecoin is an open-source, peer-to-peer cryptocurrency that lets its users do transactions in a more private, decentralized, and safe way.
Billy Marcus and Jackson Palmer, two Redditors (and, coincidentally, engineers) who had never met in person, created Dogecoin as a joke in 2013. By fusing a Shiba Inu with a typo in the word “dog,” they capitalized on two trends that were huge in their online community at the time: Bitcoin’s meteoric rise and dog memes’ popularity.
Unlike Bitcoin, Dogecoin doesn’t have a cap on supply, with a current supply being somewhere around 130 billion and 10,000 new coins produced every minute. For most of its life, Dogecoin was regarded as an amusing but worthless “meme coin.” However, that changed quickly in April 2021, when Dogecoin rose to the top ten cryptos by market cap, despite individual coins being worth only pennies.

FAQ
Dogecoin is being accepted by an increasing number of businesses, including restaurants, web server providers, travel agencies, online bookstores, and charities. These are a few companies that accept Dogecoin today: Twitch, GameStop, AirBaltic, and Hope For Paws, among others.
Like Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, Dogecoin can be used to transfer money, pay for goods and services, or be used in lieu of cash. Users can make transactions without going through a third party like a bank and can remain anonymous even if the blockchain record is public.
Among crypto communities, Dogecoin is perhaps the most prominent. As a result, it caught the attention of many celebrities, who either bought DOGE themselves or publicly supported the coin and its community on social media. Since the community’s hype is such a powerful force for DOGE, its price tends to fluctuate whenever it features on social media.
That was exactly what happened when Elon Musk started tweeting pictures of a fake “Doge” magazine cover that was immediately caught up by others and spiked Dogecoin’s price. It was in April 2020 that Elon Musk’s post, “Doge barking at the moon,” pushed the price of Dogecoin up by over 600%. Thanks to this, Dogecoin’s market cap has increased to $ 41 billion.
