How to Create and Set Up Gemini API key

Connecting your Gemini account to the Bitsgap platform allows you to streamline trading across multiple cryptocurrency exchanges from a single interface. This guide will help you create, configure, and securely connect your Gemini API key to Bitsgap.

Steps to Create and Set Up the Gemini API Key

1. Logging Into Gemini
Start by logging into your Gemini account. If you don’t have an account, create a new one to proceed.

2. Creating and Naming Your API Key
To create your API key, follow these steps:

• Click on Account in the top-right corner of the Gemini homepage.
• Navigate to the Settings page.

• Click [Create API key] to begin setting up your API.

You’ll be prompted to assign a name to your API key. Choose a clear name that indicates its use with Bitsgap.

Important Note: Ensure the API key is linked to your Primary Account for proper functionality.

3. Matching API Key Permissions
Configure your API permissions as follows:

• Auditor – Off
• Fund Management – Off
• Trading – On

Additional Notes:

• Do not require a session heartbeat.
• Use a primary account for setup.

After assigning permissions, save your changes and click [Create API key].

4. Copying Your API Key and Secret Key
Once the API key is generated, copy both the API key and Secret key to a secure location.
These keys are required to link your Gemini account to Bitsgap. 

5. Connecting API to Bitsgap
Log into your Bitsgap account and navigate to the My Exchanges page.

• Click [Add Exchange] and select Gemini from the list of supported exchanges.

• Enter your Gemini API key and Secret key into the provided fields and click [Connect].

6. Verifying Your Connection Status
After successfully connecting your Gemini API key to Bitsgap, check the connection status.
If everything is set up correctly, Gemini will appear in your list of connected exchanges with the Connected status. You will also see the trading balance available in your Gemini account.
