How to Create and Set Up OKX API key

This guide walks you through setting up your OKX API key to connect with the Bitsgap platform. OKX offers two methods for API setup: OKX Fast API and manual connection. Choose the method that best suits your needs.

OKX Fast API

The OKX Fast API uses OAuth 2.0 for quick and secure integration with Bitsgap.

1. Optional: Configure Futures Account
   • Log in to your OKX account.

• Go to Trade > Futures and click the settings icon.

• Ensure Account mode is set to “Single-currency margin” and Position mode to “One-way mode.”

• For futures trading, we recommend using Isolated margin mode for risk mitigation.

2. Go to Bitsgap > My Exchanges
   • Log in to Bitsgap, navigate to the My Exchanges page, and click [Add new exchange].

3. Select OKX and Fast Connect
   • Select OKX from the list and choose Fast Connect. Click [Connect].

4. Authorize Permissions
   • Enter your OKX credentials on the OKX website and log in.

• Authorize Bitsgap’s requested permissions. These permissions allow trading but do not grant access to personal or credential data.

5. Connection Check
   • Once authorized, you will be redirected to Bitsgap.
   • OKX will appear in My Exchanges with the Connected status, displaying your trading balance.

Manual Connection

If you prefer manual configuration, follow these steps:

1. Log in to OKX
   • Access your OKX account or create a new one.

2. Optional: Configure Futures Account
   • If trading futures, configure as described in the Fast API steps above.
3. Go to the API Page
   • Navigate to API Management from your account settings.

4. Create a V5 API Key
   • Click [Create V5 API Key].

• Select Linking third-party apps as the purpose and choose Bitsgap from the list.

5. Label and Configure API Permissions
   • Name your API key for identification.
   • Create a Passphrase and save it securely.
   • Enable the following permissions:
     • Read: On
     • Trade: On

• Complete security verification and confirm the setup.

6. Copy API and Secret Keys
   • Save the API key and Secret key securely.

7. Connect to Bitsgap
   • Go to Bitsgap > My Exchanges and click [Add new exchange].

• Select OKX and enter your API key, Secret key, and Passphras, then click [Connect].

8. Connection Check
   • Verify OKX is listed in My Exchanges with the Connected status and trading balance visible.
