How to Create and Set Up HitBTC API key
Connecting your HitBTC account to Bitsgap provides a unified interface for managing trades and accessing advanced tools unavailable on the exchange. This guide will help you create, configure, and securely link your HitBTC API key to Bitsgap.
Steps to Create and Set Up the HitBTC API Key
1. Logging Into HitBTC
Start by logging into your HitBTC account. If you don’t have an account yet, create one to proceed.
2. Creating Your API Key
- Navigate to your Account Settings (top-right corner) and click on the Settings icon.
- Select the API tab from the top menu.
- Click [New API key] to generate your API credentials.
Copy both the API key and Secret key to a secure location. These credentials will be needed for linking your account to Bitsgap.
3. Matching API Key Restrictions
To enable seamless integration, adjust the API restrictions as follows:
- Status: On (active by default)
- Order Book, History, Spot Balance: On
- Place/Cancel Orders: On
- Payment Information: On
- Withdraw Cryptocurrencies: Off
- IP Whitelist: Disabled
After setting the permissions, click [Save].
Important: Ensure you’ve disabled the withdrawal option for added security.
4. Confirming API Creation
- Enter the 2FA code generated by your Authenticator app and click [Confirm].
- Check your email inbox for a confirmation message from HitBTC and follow the link in the email to finalize your API key setup.
5. Connecting API to Bitsgap
Log into your Bitsgap account and go to the My Exchanges page:
- Click [Add new exchange].
- Select HitBTC from the list of supported exchanges and enter your API key and Secret key, then click [Connect].
6. Verifying Your Connection Status
Once your HitBTC API key is connected, check the connection status in Bitsgap:
- If successful, HitBTC will appear on your list of connected exchanges with the Connected status.
- Your trading balance will also be displayed, confirming the integration is complete.
