How to Enable and Manage 2FA on Bitsgap
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an essential feature that adds an extra layer of security to your Bitsgap account. Follow this guide to enable, disable, or troubleshoot 2FA.

Enabling 2FA

Access the Security Settings:
Go to the Settings page and navigate to the Security tab. -
Activate the Authenticator:
Toggle on the Authenticator option. -
Install a 2FA App:
Download a 2FA app like Google Authenticator or Authy on your mobile device. -
Scan the QR Code:
Open your 2FA app and scan the QR code displayed on Bitsgap.- If scanning fails, use the manual setup key provided below the QR code.

Enter the Generated Code:
Input the code displayed in your 2FA app and click Activate 2FA.
🎉 Congratulations! 2FA is now enabled for your account.
Disabling 2FA
- Go to the Security tab and toggle off the Authenticator option.
- Input the current 2FA code from your app.
- Click Turn Off 2FA to disable it.
💡 Lost Access to Your 2FA App?
If you no longer have access to your authenticator app, contact Bitsgap support at support@bitsgap.com or via live chat. Provide your account details, and the support team will assist after verification.
Troubleshooting 2FA Issues
If your 2FA codes are not working, it may be due to time desynchronization. To fix this:
- Open the Google Authenticator app.
- Tap Settings → Time Correction for Codes → Sync Now.
- Wait for the app to confirm synchronization.
This resolves most 2FA issues.
