How to create and set up Bitmart API key

In this article, we will show you how to create, configure, and connect your Bitmart exchange API key to the Bitsgap platform.

Bitsgap is a trading platform that allows you to work with numerous cryptocurrency exchanges from a unified interface with access to additional tools unavailable on the exchange.

All trading operations are created and processed by using an exchange API key which is unique for every user. An API key is a safe and reliable way to use a platform because it does not give access to your personal data and prevents any funds management (withdrawals & deposits).

1. Log in to the Bitmart exchange

Log in to your Bitmart exchange account or create a new one.

2. Go to the API page

From your profile menu, navigate to "API Management".

3. Label your new API key

In the “API List” section, give your API key any name (Memo), so you can easily understand that this key is connected to your Bitsgap account.

Attention
Please note that you will need the Memo later when adding your API key to Bitsgap. Thus, make sure to remember it or save it somewhere safe.

4. Go to Bitsgap > My Exchanges

Log in to your Bitsgap account and go to the "My Exchanges" page. Click [Add new exchange].

5. Select Bitmart from the list and copy Bitsgap IP addresses

To get the list of trusted IPs, click on the "Copy" icon and save the addresses somewhere safe (in a notepad, for example). We will need these IPs later when setting up your API permissions.

6. Return to Bitmart and match API permissions

In the “API List” section, edit your permissions as in the example below. These permissions will allow us to read your history and current balance and execute trades on your exchange account.

1. Read-only on (active by default).
2. Spot-Trade on.
3. Binding IP Address - insert the IPs copied from the My Exchanges tab.
4. When ready, press [Submit].

Note
All other permissions should be disabled.

7. Pass security verification

Enter your Email Verification code, then press [Submit].

8. Copy your API key and Secret key

Your Bitmart trading key is successfully created and ready to be connected to our platform! Please, copy your API key and Secret key somewhere safe before you add them to Bitsgap.

9. Go back to Bitsgap > My Exchanges and enter your API info

In the “Connect New Exchange” window, do the following:

1. Choose Bitmart;
2. Paste your API key;
3. Paste your Secret key;
4. Paste your Memo;
5. Click [Connect].

10. Connection check

If everything is done correctly, you will see Bitmart added to the list of your connected exchanges with the "Connected" status and the trading balance available on your account.
