How to Create and Set Up Evedex API Key

This guide walks you through setting up your OKX API key to connect with the Bitsgap platform. Evedex offers two methods for API setup: OKX Fast API and manual connection. Choose the method that best suits your needs.

Note: Evedex is available only for Futures trading.

Evedex Fast Connect

The Evedex Fast API uses OAuth 2.0 for quick and secure integration with Bitsgap.
Fast Connect allows you to securely connect your Evedex account to Bitsgap without creating or managing API keys manually.

1. Go to My Exchanges in Bitsgap

Log in to your Bitsgap account, navigate to My Exchanges, and click [Add new exchange].

2. Select Evedex and Fast Connect

• From the list of available exchanges, select Evedex and choose Fast Connect.

• Click [Connect] to proceed.

  

3. Authorize permissions on Evedex

• You will be redirected to the Evedex authorization page.
• Log in to your Evedex account if prompted.
• Review and approve the requested permissions. These permissions allow Bitsgap to place and manage trades on your behalf but do not provide access to your login credentials.

4. Connection check

• After authorization, you will be redirected back to Bitsgap.
• Evedex will appear on the My Exchanges page with the Connected status, and your available trading balance will be displayed.

Note: You must have funds available in your Evedex account for the connection to be established successfully.

Manual Connection

If you prefer manual configuration, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Evedex account
Log in to your Evedex account, or create a new account if you don’t have one yet.

2. Open account settings
Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Settings.

3. Enable One-Click Trading
In the Settings tab, toggle One-Click Trading to On.

4. Go to the API tab
Open the API tab and click the [+ Add API key] button.

5. Create an API key

• Enter a name for your API key.
• Set the expiration time — we recommend choosing the “Endless” option for uninterrupted access.
• Click [Create] to generate the key.
• Copy your API key and store it securely.

6. Export your wallet’s private key

• Go to the Security tab.
• Find the Private key section.

• Click [Export wallet], then [Copy key].

• Save this wallet key securely.

Once you’ve created your API key and copied your wallet key, connect your Evedex account to Bitsgap.

7. Connect to Bitsgap

• Log in to your Bitsgap account > navigate to My Exchanges > Click [Add new exchange].

• Choose Evedex from the list, enter your API key and wallet key and click [Connect].

8. Verify connection

• After connecting, confirm that Evedex appears in the My Exchanges list with the Connected status.
• Your available trading balance should now be visible.

Trading Account vs. Smart Account

Evedex operates with two types of accounts that work together when you trade through Bitsgap:

• Smart Account: This is your on-chain wallet that stores your funds. It’s linked to your wallet provider (such as MetaMask or WalletConnect).
• Trading Account: This account is created when you start trading on the Evedex exchange. It’s a sub-account on the platform where your trading operations occur.

When you place trades, funds are automatically transferred from your Smart Account to your Trading Account, so you don’t need to move them manually. After execution or cancellation, remaining funds return to your Smart Account automatically. For more information about the account structure, visit the official Evedex guide.

For a manual transfer, follow these steps:

1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Transfer.

2. Choose the Smart Account as the source account and the Trading Account as the destination.

3. Enter the amount you’d like to transfer and click Transfer to complete the process.
